Bio
Immanuel Mykyta-Chomsky currently studies Orchestral Conducting at the Eastman School of Music. He completed a B.M. in Piano Performance with Peter Takacs and studied Conducting with Raphael Jimenez at the Oberlin Conservatory. He is Associate Conductor of the Center City Chamber Orchestra, a student-led community orchestra in Philadelphia (PA). He served as Assistant Conductor of the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra’s Philharmonia Ensemble from 2021-2024, conducted the Oberlin Arts and Sciences Chamber Orchestra and was an Apprentice Conductor for Oberlin Opera Theatre’s fall and spring productions in 2022 and 2023
.
An avid collaborator, he has played in chamber ensembles for over a decade and has performed with Oberlin’s student-run Musikos, in the Sacred Heart Chamber Music series, with the Oberlin Orchestra, and is a sought-after accompanist for instrumental and vocal students. Committed to new music, he regularly performed with Oberlin’s Contemporary Music Ensemble and was invited to premiere works by composition students. Summer training programs have included conducting studies with Miguel Harth-Bedoya and Markand Thakar, vocal coaching at Prague Summer Nights Music Festival, as well as piano studies at the Amalfi Coast Piano Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival, Gijon Piano Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, Tanglewod BUTI, Brevard Music Center, and Curtis Summerfest. He was a 2024 Instrumental Collaborative Piano fellow at Music Academy of the West.

His arrangements have been performed by the Keystone State Boychoir and the Center City Chamber Orchestra.
